Pilgrim arrives to Santiago de Compostela
The Miñoto Ribeiro Route is one of the oldest routes which linked the north of Portugal with the town of St James the apostle. Its major part still leads along the same trails, ancient Roman roads and mediaeval tracks.

It has got this relational character, going back to really ancient times; connecting ancient ruins and prehistoric settlements, an abundance of megalithic sites and tombs, which all remind us of the primitive inhabitants of these places. It englobes, among other characteristics, the three distinctive elements which bestow it this very unique character: Nature, Thermal Water and Wine".

The route has three crossings from Portugal to Galicia:

  • The main itinerary, from Braga to Vilaverde, Ponte da Barca, Arcos de Valdevez, Monçao, and Melgaço, crossing the municipalities of Padrenda, Pontedeva, Cortegada, Arnoia, Castrelo de Miño, Ribadavia, Beade, Leiro, O Carballiño, Boborás, Beariz, Forcarei, A Estrada, Vedra, Boqueixón and Santiago de Compostela.
  • Braga, Ponte da Barca, Ermelo, Lindoso toward Baixa Limia, Lobios and Entrimo, Castro Leboreiro, where it joins the main route.
  • Terras de Bouro till near the village de Lobios, Entrimo and Castro Leboreiro, where it joins the main route.
