At the chapel of San Amaro (Arnoia) there is a fork junction, from where we can get to  the municipality of Castrelo de Miño along a trail that at times turns into a U-shaped path (parts are undergoing conservation works), reaching on the way the village of Reigoso, where we can find a site with petroglyphs, representing ancient art carved in stone.

From the village of Reigoso we start descending along an asphalt road, until we reach another dirt road, which is about 4 m wide, on the left, which is known by the locals of Padreiro as Camino Real. It will take us downhill to a place where we will find a roadside crucifix and the parish church of Santa María de Castrelo (St Mary of Castrelo) of romantic origin, built on top of ancient ruins.

Section 3: Castrelo de Miño - Ribadavia

  • Length: 5 Km.
  • Difficulty: Low
  • Estimated time: 1 h. 5 min.
We take an asphalt road and will soon walk past hot springs on the way to the modern bridge of Castrelo (the original one was from the 12th century). From there we enter the land that belongs to the municipality of Ribadavia, whose capital is a historical town and the ancient capital of the kingdom of Galicia.
